O.K, so I saw the ad on tv and it really wanted me to buy a package of it. (Also because my brother had some, so I got jealous.
I live in Canada, so the prices are obviously a lot higher..I went to Zellers and saw the regular Whitestrips for $36, and the premium ones for $44 (CDN).
That is very expensive to me, so I was expecting extraordinary results! I was thinking about 8 shades or so… But I was wrong…
I got home, opened up the box, (which I thought was very sleek:))
The box contained 28 strips in all. 14 upper strips, and 14 lower strips.
I thought it was a very good idea they did of putting a little mirror in the box, so that you can bring the box with you and put on the strips anywhere.
What you do is open up a strip (preferably upper) and get ready to put the sticky gel side against your teeth and fold it over the back.
Next you open up the lower strip and do the same as you did with the upper teeth but now with the lower teeth.
That process was easy enough…
I have a huge beef about the lower strip! They give you a big strip, but they only tell you to take part of it! How is it suppost to fit on all of your teeth!
I was very careful when wearing the strips because I didn’t want them to move around… So I would make irritating sounds for the 30 minutes that you are suppost to where them for.
I found that wearing each strip seperate was easier all together.
After you are done the 30 min, you take off the strip and discard. Then you rinse any of the excess gel off of your teeth.
You need to wear each kind of strip twice a day. So that means 2 upper strips in one day for seven days, and 2 lower strips in one day for seven days.
By the third day my gums were burning!! It felt like someone lit them on fire, it’s impossible to avoid this because the strips will end up covering your gums anyway. And my teeth became sensitive to hot and cold, but my teeth felt very clean and slick as if I had just had a visit to the dentist. About 4 days after the treatment all my pain went away.
By the seventh day I had finished the treatment.
I was not very happy with my results, I think my teeth got about 3 shades whiter.
My teeth weren’t even that yellow to start out with. But the weird thing is is everyone else in my family kept saying “Man your teeth are white!”… But I thought I would have better results. On the shade guide, I’m about a 4, so that’s not bad…
It just goes to show you! Adds for stuff that whitens your teeth: The actors had their teeth professionally bleached and edited with a computer, so don’t be fooled with what you see!
Overall this product should’ve been $15 dollars less.
I was shocked that such a good Crest company didn’t do so well.
