PREVIOUS USAGE

After having started off with the 14 day whitening Crest strips I decided to upgrade to a shorter time frame and try this 7 day whitening strips kit.

PRODUCT “SMARTS”

When we really think about products we can figure out some side effects that we may experience before we purchase the product. For instance, the previous kit took 14 days to whiten. What, then, would a 7 day kit need to contain in order to do the job in half the time? The product would have to have double the strength, right? Common sense makes this obvious but sometimes I think we get caught up in “what can this do FOR me” instead of “what will this do TO me”.

WHAT’S INCLUDED & HOW DOES IT WORK?

7 day Crest Whitening Strips kit contains, I believe, 14 whitening strips for the top teeth and 14 for the bottom. These strips are wrapped individually and placed in separated compartments in a blue plastic case with a bonus mirror attached. The strips are thin, clear and have clear whitening gel. They are applied by placing them over your front teeth and tucking the existing portion of the strip over the back of the teeth. You are to wear the strips twice a day for 30 minutes.

WHAT ARE THE NEGATIVES?

The strips are not extremely long or wide so people with large teeth may have difficulty with this product. While I don’t have small teeth they are also not large so it’s not a big deal for me. Also, you may have to check the strips every once in a while during the 30 minutes to be sure the strips have not moved. This doesn’t happen often for me but it has a few times if I’ve done a bit too much talking or my tongue rubbed against it.

I will tell you right now that, if you get any of this product on your tongue, it doesn’t taste good (not nearly as bad as some things) and can hurt your tongue a little just like if you set mint toothpaste on your tongue. It, also, makes your breath smell bad while it is in your mouth but that problem can be solved by brushing your teeth after. Common sense strikes again!

MY TEETH HISTORY AND MAYBE YOURS TOO?

My dentist tells me I have sensitive teeth. Of course, I already knew this. I would brush and floss twice as much as everyone else and I would still get cavities. Sensitive teeth runs in the family. When I go to the dentist for a check-up I am sure I won’t have any cavities as I doubt there are any teeth left that don’t have fillings (the white ones, of course). So, needless to say, when I started experiencing sensitivity when using these white strips (Only the 7 day ones. I had no sensitivity with the 14 day kit) it was no surprise to me. It hurt a little bit like little flicks of pain. It lasted a couple of minutes and then would go away. This would happen while wearing the strips a few days after first using them.

THE ALTERNATIVE

If you find that the sensitivity bothers you too much then I would suggest you use the 14 day kit which is less intense or maybe trying taking a day or two off between whitening. While it won’t work nearly as fast as this one at least you won’t have to worry about anything. If your teeth are not sensitive or you think you can handle the little flicks of pain and sensitivity then go for it. As for most products it’s probably best to discuss this with your doctor.

YES, BUT DOES IT WORK?

Now about this kit’s ability to whiten…can I just say it did an amazing job? I have seen my sisters use it and have seen my before and after. This product does an amazing job and, with a bit of warning about the tooth sensitivity, I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone. I notice a difference in my teeth within the first day (two applications) and amazing results when the 7 days are done.

MY FEEDBACK

I get compliments on my teeth all of the time and hearing people say how white and perfect my teeth look really makes me happy. A person’s smile is a big feature and it should be the best it can be. I even had a guy I didn’t know tell me that my teeth looked so clean and white and that he found it an extremely attractive feature. What better compliment could you get from a stranger than that? I can’t think of one.

FINAL ADVICE

A little warning to you is that, while it says the product lasts 12 months, drinking coffee, dark soda, smoking or other staining products will lessen the length of time the product will last. Common sense at its best, ladies and gentlemen. I, personally, have found it to last about 9-10 months for me while moderately drinking staining products.

WELL, THAT’S ALL FOLKS!

Without further commentation I must say that I will continue to stand strong for this product. It works wonderfully and I will always use it…until they come out with a 24 hour whitening strips kit. I’ll keep the novacaine closeby.
